🚨 Issue 8 of FIATA’s Legal Newsletter, FIATA Focus, is out now! This edition dives into the evolving role of freight forwarders in today’s regulatory landscape, spotlighting the implementation of pre-loading advance cargo information (PLACI) regimes and what they mean for data ownership, compliance, and control. 🔍 The European Union’s ICS2 system marks a major step forward, with multiple filing options now recognising the value of house-level data held by freight forwarders. With ICS2 Release 3 expanding beyond airfreight, now is the time to ensure you are ready. FIATA is supporting the transition with industry model agreements, which are already in place for airfreight and underway for maritime. ⚖️ This issue also includes updates on recent case law, including a Dutch ruling under the CMR and a UK Supreme Court decision on haulier liability. These cases highlight the increasing contractual responsibilities freight forwarders face and how to manage risk effectively through strong contracts and security protocols. Understanding one’s legal position, managing contracts carefully, and staying ahead of regulatory changes is critical to staying competitive in today’s supply chain. 📖 Access the FIATA Focus - Issue 8 here: https://lnkd.in/eYS8EXgU 📧Interested in contributing to the next edition?
