FIATA International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations is a non-governmental, membership-based organisation representing the freight forwarding industry. Also known as the ‘Architects of Transport’, FIATA has Association Members and Individual Members in some 150 countries. FIATA has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (inter alia ECE, ESCAP, ESCWA), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and the UN Commission on International Trade Law. FIATA is recognised as representing the freight forwarding industry by many other governmental organisations, governmental authorities, and private international organisations in the field of transport.

FIATA mourns the loss of Mr Suwit Ratanachinda, a visionary leader and cherished mentor in the freight forwarding and logistics community, who passed away on Sunday, 18 May. As former President of the Thai International Freight Forwarders Association (TIFFA), Honorary Chair of the TIFFA Board of Directors and former FIATA Senior Vice President (2009–2011), Suwit was a driving force behind the growth and modernisation of logistics in Thailand and across the region. His professionalism, generosity, and dedication inspired many. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, colleagues, and the wider logistics community. Suwit’s impact will be remembered with great respect and gratitude.

🚆 How can international rail better support multimodal logistics? 🌍 Efficient multimodal transport is the backbone of global trade, ensuring the seamless movement of goods across various transport modes. However, challenges such as regulatory fragmentation and interoperability gaps continue to hinder its efficiency and reliability. In the latest FIATA Review, the evolving role of rail in global freight transport was explored, with insights from OTIF - Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail, represented by its Secretary General, Aleksandr Kuzmenko and Senior Legal Advisor, Steve Davey.
